FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Pupil App 1.1: A Customizable Resolution Switcher For Mac OS X Mountain Lion
Vancouver based Louder Than Ten, in collaboration with Padraig Kennedy, are thrilled to announce their latest release: Pupil 1.1 – a menu bar utility for Mac OS X, available now. Pupil lets users label and order their favourite display settings so they can switch resolutions quickly and easily without having to go into System Preferences. Pupil also unlocks the native 1:1 pixel resolution for Retina displays, giving Retina screens access to non-Retina modes for testing compatibility on apps, sites and more.
“I’d spend about fifteen seconds digging through System Preferences every time I wanted to change the resolution on my Retina Macbook Pro. At about 10 switches per day, that worked out to over 12 hours per year. Other resolution apps list all pixel values in the menu bar which can be terribly confusing. We wanted something faster and simpler, so we made Pupil. At a cost of $5.00, Pupil pretty much pays for itself after ten switches.”
Switch Screen Resolutions In A Blink
Pupil lets users label & organize their preferred resolutions in a simple menu bar utility. The app lets people choose between maximum screen real estate and a crisp viewing experience without the delay of switching via System Preferences.
Users save time and can revel in the right amount of screen space whether they’re reading, writing, coding, designing, or immersed in any task requiring a quick change of resolution. A clean user interface lets them customize their experience so they can spend less time setting their preferences and more time using them.
More Pupil App Features
- Lets users name & organize their favorites
- Gives Retina screens access to non-Retina modes for testing
- Unlocks the native 1:1 pixel resolution
With Pupil, users see only the resolutions they drag into their favorites, and its speedy resolution switching makes compatibility testing on apps and sites easier to manage. The native 1:1 pixel resolution opens up an ultra-wide canvas for easy viewing, while the nicknaming feature prevents users from having to memorize resolution dimensions, making selections painless. Pupil is available online at http://pupil.io for $5.00.
Pupil was conceived and christened in Vancouver, Canada in 2013 by Travis Gertz and Padraig Kennedy.
